We work to protect every person we support and make sure concerns are heard, taken seriously and acted on.

Our safeguarding commitment

Every person receiving care has the right to live safely, free from abuse, neglect, discrimination and avoidable harm. WeCare2 Home Services Ltd takes safeguarding seriously and promotes a culture where concerns are listened to, recorded and acted on.

Our approach follows the Care Act 2014, relevant statutory guidance and the standards expected of a CQC-regulated care provider. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, including clients, families, carers and professionals.

What we help protect people from

We remain alert to signs of physical, emotional, sexual or financial abuse, neglect, discriminatory abuse, organisational abuse, domestic abuse, self-neglect, modern slavery and avoidable restrictions on a person's freedom.

We also consider online safety, mental capacity, pressure from others and changes in behaviour, presentation or the home environment that may indicate a person needs additional support.

How we recruit and support our team

We use safer recruitment practices, including identity and right-to-work checks, references and enhanced DBS checks where required. New carers are introduced to our policies, responsibilities and reporting routes before working independently, with ongoing supervision and support.

We provide training and guidance so staff can recognise concerns, maintain professional boundaries, respect consent and capacity, and share information appropriately when someone may be at risk.

If you have a concern

If you or someone you know may be at immediate risk, call 999. If there is no immediate danger but you are worried about abuse or neglect, contact WeCare2 as soon as possible on 01229 846646 or admin@wecare2.co.uk.

You do not need to be certain that abuse has happened before raising a concern. Tell us what you have seen, heard or been told, and we will listen without judgement, record the information and take appropriate action. You can ask a trusted person to help you make contact.

What happens next

We will treat concerns sensitively, share information only with people who need to know, and involve the person wherever it is safe and appropriate. We may contact the local authority safeguarding team, the police, health professionals or the CQC when required to protect someone or meet our legal duties.

We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a genuine concern. If you are unhappy with our response, ask to speak with the registered manager or contact the local authority adult safeguarding team directly.

Privacy and dignity

Safeguarding information is handled carefully and securely. We respect each person's privacy, wishes, communication needs, mental capacity and cultural identity while taking proportionate steps to keep them safe. Read our detailed privacy notice on the WeCare2 Platform page.
